CAIRE is a consortium from a legal point of view and a collective in its internal dynamics of shared co-creation: a project organisation that operates within complexity through method, vision and responsibility.

For CAIRE Consorzio, design is a choral work of art. Architecture is conceived as a political tool for improving territories, communities and economies. Now more than ever, design must be rigorous, scientific and radical.

CAIRE’s rebranding introduces a clear and straightforward language for an ambitious vision. A consortium that integrates multidisciplinary skills — from regional planning to interior design, from urban regeneration to development strategies — operating on different scales through shared direction and a consistent purpose. It is the evolution of the historic Cooperative Architetti Ingegneri Reggio Emilia, founded in 1947 where a post-war Italy had one primary urgency: to rebuild homes, cities, infrastructure and collective trust.
In the post-war period, the central issue was housing policy, social housing and the right to housing.
Planning was institutional and centralised; architecture was primarily a tool for material reconstruction.

Today, the context has changed radically. Design is confronted with the climate crisis, land consumption, hydrogeological instability, urban inequalities, demographic decline and migratory flows. From the drafting machine to GIS systems. From zoning plans to Smart City platforms. From regulatory planning to AI-enhanced design.

CAIRE has always embraced this complexity.

Why rebrand now?

The rebranding stems from the combination of the urban planning experience of CAIRE Urbanistica and Consorzio Stabile CAIRE with the creative direction of Marcel Mauer Architecture, founded in London in 2011.
On one side, public planning, political vision and social responsibility.
On the other, an international design perspective capable of translating complex systems into clear identities, with visionary and authoritative languages. The rebranding is therefore not an aesthetic operation, but a strategic design act, consistent with the group’s DNA.
